East and West Mids Cricket Boards get the 'Tesco' Experience

26th Apr 2012

Managers and Development Officers from Cricket Boards across the East and West Midlands enjoyed a virtual shopping trip to Tesco as part of a recent workshop to explore ideas and methods of promoting their brand to a wider audience.

Clare Haynes led the one day session which sought to develop a marketing model which would help cricket development professionals sell their products to those not currently participating. This follows guidance from Sport England to help NGBs continuously develop their 'insight' into their current and potential consumers and use a growth cycle to increase participation levels.

While the ECB finalises its Whole Sport Plan for 2013-2017, the Midlands CCBs are already considering how they are going to meet their targets and take cricket to the masses.

Helen Pack, Regional Manager said “Thanks to Podium for organising the bespoke one day marketing course for the ECB in the Midlands. The training was pitched perfectly in line with our 2013-2017 Planning and feedback from all delegates has been very good. The workshop helped us to understand our customers’ needs so that we can develop our products within cricket accordingly. Clare’s innovative approach engaged everyone and we now look forward to seeing the impact.”
